This painting is a studio painting from a Plein air work that was done last September at the MPA Paint out in Hamilton, Montana.
I was so struck by the changing light and the angles of the mountain. This reminded me of a Russell Chatham painting where Russ captured the triangle of a peak, from the bottom triangle (the two points of the mountain ) to the top of the triangle ( one point Mountain peak ) which receded to the sky line, creating this interesting perspective. I hope. you get the idea!
