Intent, African Lion

Intent   Ah, the lioness. She was with a large pride.  I think there were twenty in the group, many young ones.  This older female was very alert, always looking, listening, as we observed them in the bush.  I wanted to catch the intense expression of her eyes.  I have a smaller version, Lioness, that is posted, also.  This is a pen and ink wash on Yupo paper (14" x 11").  It is framed in a carved African-style frame with a silver inner lip (20" x 17").  The painting is framed under conservation glass to protect the artwork from fading due to UV rays.  We still recommend not to hang these works in direct sunlight.
